Advantage Multi For Dogs

Advantage Multi (imidacloprid + moxidectin)

Topical Solution: Clinical trials demonstrate Advantage Multi for Dogs effectiveness for 100 percent prevention for heartworm disease, as well as the flea control of Advantage, and the treatment and control of intestinal worms (hookworms, roundworms and whipworms). All this, in one convenient monthly treatment, clearly Advantage Multi for Dogs is an exceptional choice for every dog lover serious about maintaining and protecting their dog's well being and overall health.

As a dog lover, one of your main goals is to keep your dog healthy and happy. It is common for even the most closely sheltered dog to become infected with multiple types of external and internal parasites in their lifetime.

Fleas, heartworms, intestinal worms, and ear mites can cause severe discomfort and health problems to the infected pet. Fortunately, with the help of Advantage Multi, these parasites are relatively easy to control, treat, and/or prevent.

Besides the discomfort of flea bites, fleas can cause medical problems in pets including flea allergy dermatitis, which can lead to hair loss, skin inflammation and irritation. In large numbers, fleas can cause anemia from blood loss which can be fatal if your pet is young or feeble. Also, fleas are carriers of a common tapeworm, which can cause cramping and gas.

Dogs acquire heartworm infection through mosquito bites. Heartworm disease may cause a combination of medical problems to the afflicted dog primarily affecting the lungs, heart, liver, and kidneys. The heartworms settle in the right side of the heart and in the major vessels that bring blood to and from the right chambers. The heartworms will cause inflammation and interfere with blood flow. This can cause pulmonary embolisms (clots in the lungs) and congestive heart failure. It also can lead to liver or kidney failure. Death can be caused by one or any combination of these problems. Upon infection, treatment will only kill and eradicate the heartworms. Damage already caused will rarely be reversible. The best approach is clearly to prevent any possible heartworm infection.

There are a number of intestinal worms that can infect dogs. Those deserving special attention include tapeworms, roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms.

One roundworm can produce more than 100,000 eggs per day. These eggs pass in the pet's feces and spread throughout the area the pet defecates. These eggs can present a health risk for your pet, other pets and your family.

Up to twenty percent of children are infected by roundworms at some time in their lives.[2] Most of these infections are caused by exposure to a contaminated environment. For most people, treatment is not necessary, but in some cases, serious health problems may occur.

Untreated, an intestinal worm infestation can lead to numerous health problems including suppressing the immune system, damage to the digestive tract as well as other major organs.

Ear mites are common, highly infectious tiny crustacean parasites when, left untreated, can cause irritation and inflammation, predisposing the pet to bacterial and yeast infections and, in extreme cases, rupture the ear drum leading to seizures and deafness.

Ear mites are a common cause of external-ear inflammation, especially in kittens and young cats. When a mite-infested the pet will constantly scratches their ear(s) and/or shake their head, particularly after having their ears pet or rubbed. The pet can tear open tiny blood vessels in the ear flap with this behavior, which may lead to swelling and permanent disfigurement.

The Companion Animal Parasite Council (CAPC) recommends year-round treatment with heartworm and flea preventatives as well a regular treatment for infection by intestinal parasites. Advantage Multi for Cats (imidacloprid + moxidectin) Topical Solution and Advantage Multi for Dogs (imidacloprid + moxidectin) Topical Solution provide this level of care in one convenient topical application.
