Aryan Molossus |
|
|
While many stories tell of a dog giving its life to save a person's, perhaps no breed can make that claim as their purpose of existence. The Aryan Molossus is indeed that breed. Bred to resolve disputes among the tribes of the region, whenever a problem arose the men of the tribe would approach the breeders of these dogs. Then, when both sides had procured a dog, the two dogs were dropped into a pit to fight it out. The losing dog either died during the fight or was destroyed afterward. The dogs were said to be even tempered with their owners but as they never met anyone else, they were fierce to everyone else. Now, presumably any remaining dogs are hidden away from the Russian Army. Nevertheless, there is little question that despite the fact that these dogs deserve respect and regard for the sacrifice and price they paid to maintain the "peace" in that region, that the "easy solution" likely also meant that people were far more willing to find fault with one another and that the dogs in question are likely not a suitable companion for over 99% of homes out there. |
