Purebred Rescue - UKC vs AKC- Does it matter?

Looking to adopt a purebred? Perhaps a local rescue has what you are looking for or you may want to find out more about working with a rescue that works just with the breed you are interested in. Great place to make contacts, find out what's involved or perhaps find help for a purebred dog in need.

Purebred Rescue - UKC vs AKC- Does it matter?

We are looking at a purebred Flat Coated Retriever rescue dog for a pet only. She is only UKC registered and not AKC. Since we want her only for a family pet and not for show or breeding, does it matter which organization she is registered with?

No. In fact most rescues won't have any registration available since it's often lost in the process of them being taken from their homes. Many rescue organizations will not release papers even if they are available.

Thanks for helping a rescue!
